Laura studied law and Sociology at Warwick University and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, York. She worked as a paralegal and was a trainee solicitor with McCarrahers solicitors in Southampton. Laura qualified as a solicitor in 1999.
She was employed with two other specialist personal injury practices before joining Lyons Davidson’s in 2008 and was appointed Partner/Senior Manager in June 2018. Laura heads the brain injury team, specialising in serious and catastrophic injury (including amputation and spinal injury claims) in particular head injury and brain injury. Laura has over 15 years’ experience of working in the specialism of brain injury caused by a wide variety of causes, from road traffic accidents and accidents at work to injuries sustained in assaults. In her free time, Laura has been a committee member and then, for a period of five years from 2000-2014, Chair of Headway Bath and District (the charity supports local brain injury sufferers, their family and carers). Laura was a Law Society Young Solicitors Pro Bono finalist in 2004 for her work with Headway Bath & District. She was coordinator for the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers Child Injury Special Interest group until 2014 and is now secretary for this organisation, which provides training and talks to the legal profession on topics relating to all aspects of child injury, including brain, spinal and birthing injuries.
