This week (8-14 May) is Action for Brain Injury Week and, to mark it, Headway have launched A New Me campaign on  their website and through social media.

The brain injury charity will be posting submissions from members, who explain how life has changed after brain injury and how it has affected their sense of self.

There is also a list of ‘Top 10 things not to say to someone with a brain injury’, compiled from suggestions by Headway members, and including statements such as “I know someone who had a brain injury and they’re fine now,” and “But you don’t look disabled…” alongside a video interviewing brain injury survivors about the many frustrating things they hear from members of the public. Please take some time to have a look at the main campaign website ANewMe.org.uk and follow the hashtag #ABIWeek on Twitter

Lyons Davidson’s Head Injury Team in Bristol are supporting the week by attending a treasure hunt to help raise funds for the Child Brain Injury Trust.
